What do you think of as Italian architecture? Florence, Rome and Venice? Roman might and Renaissance beauty?

Or do you think of the 600 unfinished municipal buildings across Italy that lie
in wait for the construction teams to return?

Unfinished Italy is their story. It is Italy, home of ruins. It is Italy’s most prominent post-war architectural style. It is buildings that are in limbo between perfection and nothingness, forgotten, ruins before they were ever used, now an integral part of the Italian landscape.

Stadiums without audiences, hospitals without patients, theatres that after 50 years have not yet seen their premiere. This is Unfinished Italy.

A privileged Arab male, a disillusioned Indian taxi driver and a European air hostess’s paths are about to collide and irrevocably impact one another’s lives.

The Secret World of Haute Couture

The Scene Club is proud to showcase the BBC4 documentary ‘The Secret World of Haute Couture’ in celebrating Women’s Month.

For the women who belong to the haute couture club, spending $100,000 on a dress they will wear only once or twice is quite normal, but to be a member you have to adhere to a strict set of unspoken rules. This is old school fashion: celebrities are a definite no-no.

Film Synopsis:
May is a girl who had a relationship with a guy in 2006 that ended with his death in an accident. In 2007 she met another guy (Yasser) falling in love with him but she discovered that everything that happened with the new guy was very similar to everything that happened with her former lover. She met him on the same day that she met her former lover, fell in love, and confessed her love on the same days as well. This makes her terrified that he will die on the same day as her former lover, so she is determined to save his life – somehow.
