What is the scene club?

‘The Scene Club’ is UAE’s first official film club founded by D-Seven Motion Pictures and is under the patronage of the Dubai International Film Festival. Its goal is to provide a monthly platform for the film industry to come together and celebrate independent films. Every month we showcase a non-commercial feature film / short films from around the world and also fly-in their directors to Dubai for their film screening followed by a post-event Q&A session with the audience and media.

Where does it take place?

The event takes place at Knowledge Village Conference centre, Main Auditorium Hall. The event always takes place on the last Thursday of every month. Location map can be found on the ‘contact’ page.

How do we get invited to the event?

It is very simple to get invited, when you are on the scene club website, go to the ‘join the club’ page, fill in your details and you will then receive an invitation from us when the next Scene Club event will be coming up. Then follow the link on that e-invitation you will receive to reserve seats.

How much does it cost to attend?

The event is free including popcorn and soft drinks.

How do I recommend a film?

The best way to recommend a film for The Scene club is to fill out the form on the scene club website which is on the ‘home’ page. This will automatically go to a scene club staff member who will get back in touch with you regarding the film recommended by you.

How can I be a volunteer?

The Scene Club welcomes all volunteers to take part. The easiest way is to contact the coordinator of the event, Reshel Shah, her contact details can be found on the ‘contact’ page.
